We are affiliated to the A.B.A of England, which has set guidelines that all club members must follow. Our First concern at Derby City is the well being of our boxers and their development as a person. Derby City has members from many different cultural backgrounds, both male and female. The aim of the club is to provide fair guidance and support to all, regardless of race and disabilities. Derby City prides itself on camaraderie and encouragement between all members.

Amateur boxing is recognised worldwide as a contact sport teaching the techniques and skills required to become a Amateur boxer under qualified instruction and supervision.
Having inherited desire to engage in combat from the beginning of man kind, boxing enables us to release built up aggression, and also relieves us from the stresses of our day to day life’s.

This type of training increases the cardiovascular system, muscle endurance and general fitness levels.
A boxers weight is monitored on a regular basis and is advised on a balanced diet through individual needs.
